Now a serial entrepreneur, I launched, managed and sold a spa operation and am developing a new business that offers spa by the hour, half day, day or month to month in addition to consulting with businesses on their launch, process improvement, change management and accomplishing their goals.
I founded Bella Fontana Spa, Ltd in 2005. We are located in historic downtown Sherman, Texas, in a century-old building that had been a gas station, car dealership, Knights of Columbus hall and regional mental health and mental disabilities facility before being converted into more than 6,000 square feet of relaxation. We average 14-17 employees and see more than 5,000 clients each year.
People love that we’re right here in the heart of America, and we provide the same sorts of services and state-of-the-art equipment usually found at exclusive destination spas.

Before I opened the spa I worked in operations management, information technology, budget and finance and other functional areas in both the public and private sectors. I had no experience working in spas, but a lot of experience enjoying them. After every business trip or while on vacation, I went to a spa. Half because it made me feel good, and half because I thought it could be a great business.
I took the best ideas from my spa experiences and created a new career for myself that connects me with people. Bella Fontana has been recognized by the Best of Texoma for our spa and massage services for several years. Our team of employees makes all the difference. Unique to the industry, I hire direct employees as spa technicians instead of contractors and provide benefits. This reduces turnover and helps the business grow. In 2007, Bella Fontana acquired a local medical spa and its full range of services. These additional services address an even broader spectrum of needs and complement and enhance the client experience.
Bella Fontana Spa is the place people want to go to take some time out, shut down and take care of their body, mind and spirit. Our job is to make clients happy one experience at a time.
