John E. Girton, Jr. (aka Pastor G) is virtual pastor of the online ministry TheLovingChurch.org and executive director of the Indiana Healthy Marriage and Family Coalition, Inc. A native of Indianapolis, his passion is working to strengthen his community through various research and evidence based skills building programs and educational events. A former Journalism and Telecommunications instructor at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, John uses his many gifts and talents to empower youth and adults to lead productive and responsible lives. He has instructed students in various areas of media, marketing and communications at Tennessee State University, ITT Technical Institute and The First Amendment Center’s Freedom Forum on the Campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
As an entrepreneur, he owns the Mass Media Group, Inc., a creative consulting and John Girton Speaks, a training firm in Indianapolis and travels extensively speaking and training non-profit and non-governmental business leaders on marketing, communication strategies and image building. He enjoys sharing messages of hope to inspire a generation to turn their life’s vision into reality.

My name is John E. Girton, Jr. and I have 20+ years of executive leadership experience as the current CEO of The Mass Media Group, Inc. I'm the former Director of Creative Media Services at Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville, Tennessee and am proud to have used my skills, expertise and passion for community to author the Technology Integration Service Learning and Civic Engagement Project between TSU and the Metro Nashville Public School Systems.
After moving to Indianapolis, Indiana to teach journalism and telecommunications at Ball State University, I continued to invest in my community by spending the past four years becoming certified in various community focused, family strengthening and responsible manhood curriculum from around the United States. I also stayed on the cutting edge of technology by honing my skills as a media producer and instructional designer for organizations such as St. Luke's UMC, the University of Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Mayor's Office. I regularly provide technology training through the Indianapolis Public Library system.
Today along with my entrepreneurial pursuits, I serve the state of Indiana as the Executive Director of the Indiana Healthy Marriage and Family Coalition, Inc. and travel nationally as a professional trainer and empowerment speaker on topics of responsible manhood, relationship strengthening, entrepreneurship, educational technology, and urban ministry. My passion for empowerment fuels me to continue striving for excellence. To that end, I'm putting the finishing touches on a Master's Degree in Urban Ministry. I intend to complete that degree and continue my studies to earn a PhD in Urban Leadership within the next four years.
