In my work as an IT consultant, I get to solve new problems and meet new people. These problems can range from how to implement agile methodology in the organization, to how to present a business idea to investors.
I am the owner of IEM Solutions a consulting and technology services company. We offer custom application development services, such as design, development, and implementation of custom computer information systems. My customers are IT shops and software product start-up companies looking to establish product design processes and architecture and operational procedures. The company serves various industries, such as financial services, retail and distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, telecommunications/utilities and public sector programs.
Here’s a bit of what we can cover in our PivotPlanet session(s):
• How to develop a solution architecture and design organization and realize product vision.
• How to create/change business model to stay competitive.
• How to plan and present for funding.
• How to leverage outsourcing and off-shoring to focus on your core strengths.
• How to benefit from the cloud computing and big data initiatives.
I have a wide range of experience as an IT consultant having worked in product lifecycle management, IT/operations strategy, business model development/business architecture, strategic partnerships, B2B integration, financial management and software architecture.
My advice and expertise has helped improve business processes by: designing highly-effective business models and building/leading teams in establishing off-shoring units in India to serve companies in the United States; establishing key collaborations to stimulate new business development; cultivating productive strategic relationships with senior management, partners and funding groups; and supporting sales growth of 400% by developing an e-Commerce platform and building a web development team to enable efficient creation/rollout of e-Commerce websites.
Additionally, I generated revenue of $12 MM over a three-year period by creating a new development practice for Microsoft.net platform, as well as an outsourcing strategy capitalizing on the company’s onsite and offshore strengths. I also co-founded the Institute of Mainframe Studies to train engineers in IBM tools and products, and created a Healthcare IT strategy presentation based on Industry Analysis at Intel.
Over the years, I have learned many valuable lessons that have contributed to my success: always hire a well balanced team; do not deploy off-the-shelf development processes; always modify for your own needs; do not be the first to use new technology; learn from others’ mistakes; do not just deliver great products, but also invest in customer relationships and network a lot.
